Difficult times for everyone in Afghanistan because of the latest decision of the Taliban terrorist organization deciding to cut internet access in 5 provinces. Such bans also means cutting communications with other countries and are highly likely to spread across the rest of the country’s provinces, cutting off internet completely.
The first trial ban took place in the northern Balkh province and the next day to another five regions which will very likely spread across the country. The population has already been suffering enough under the oppression of the Taliban since August 2021.
Such a decision is to continue limiting voices and education as well as communications with the outside world from learning of anything taking place inside the country. Online education, psychological support, online businesses have been destroyed. The ban is designed to further restrict the population, therefore ensuring the safety of terrorists.
Highly concerned activists, diplomats, journalists, communities, and organizations have reported Afghanistan a safe haven for terrorists and strongly warn of the dangers of terrorism spreading across many other countries.
International communities and major powers must take this decision seriously which will not end well for any nation, neither for Afghans nor for the rest of the world. If the major powers regard terrorist groups as undesirable, they should take measures to eradicate them from all our lives.
